Samuel S Pearlman is of counsel to the Cleveland law firm of Singerman, Mills, Desberg & Kauntz Co., L.P.A. where he practices primarily in the areas of real estate, general corporate and securities law.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner for nine years at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. and immediately previous to that he was a founding shareholder of Berick, Pearlman & Mills Co., L.P.A.

 

            Mr. Pearlman focuses on negotiation and documentation of commercial real estate transactions, real estate and other business loans from both a borrower's and a lender's perspective, private equity investments, business mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and joint venture and limited liability company agreements.  For many years he has represented and counseled publicly held and private corporations, government entities, individuals, partnerships, joint ventures, limited liability companies and real estate investment trusts in sophisticated corporate and real estate transactions.

 

            Mr. Pearlman has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 20 years and has been listed since its founding in Chambers USA:  America's Leading Business Lawyers.  He also has been included in Law & Politics magazine's annual list of Ohio Super Lawyers since 2005.

 

            Mr. Pearlman is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan (member, Corporation, Banking and Business Law, Securities Law and Real Estate Law Sections), Ohio State and American Bar Associations.  He served as chair of the Securities Law Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and is active on its Real Estate Institute Committee.  He is a frequent speaker and panel moderator at legal seminars and before business and educational groups.  For five years Mr. Pearlman taught the course Modern Real Estate Transactions at Case Western Reserve Law School.  He also served for many years on the advisory committee of the Ohio Division of Securities.

 

            Mr. Pearlman received his A.B. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963 and his LL.B. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1966, where he graduated magna cum laude and is a member of the Order of the Coif.  Mr. Pearlman was an Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.
